The Newtown Youth Academy held their premiere black tie gala presented by the NYA Board of Directors on October 26th at The Matrix Corporate Center In Danbury, CT.
Since music is healing and something everyone has in common the theme of the gala was, "Play It Forward: Moving Through the Music".
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support future free programming for the Newtown, Connecticut community at the Youth Academy's fitness center.
Peter D'Amico, NYA Founder

Entertainment:
Nick Altieri-a Connecticut Smooth Jazz Artist started off the evening playing sax and clarinet.
Darlene Love- She made her name with the song “He’s a Rebel,” in 1962, and has worked with 1950s and 1960s greats Dionne Warwick, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, and others.
Jeremy Davenport, New Orleans jazz trumpeter/singer who toured with Harry Connick Jr's Big Band played jazz standards, as well as his original works.
Prudence Sloane and Joel Silvestro from Stardust Dancers attired in Roaring 20's clothing smoothly danced across the floor performing during the cocktail hour and dinner.
The Performing Arts Center of Connecticut treated guests to a romping, stomping good time as thirty dancers took to the floor.
Silent Auction:
Guitars signed by Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett, signed sheet music from Taylor Swift, and trip packages such as the Kentucky Derby, the Napa Valley wine region, yacht adventures, and a trip to Switzerland. Former Newtown resident Jenna VanOy provided memorabilia from her days in the 1990s television sitcom “Blossom.” From soccer great David Beckham was a donation of sports memorabilia, and much more.
