The inaugural Mardi Gras party, "The French Quarter: A Mardi Gras Celebration," was held at the recently completed Newtown Community Center. Mardi Gras along with Martini Madness and a golf tournament will now be the three major events for the Newtown, CT Chamber of Commerce.

The attendees enjoyed Louisiana inspired appetizers provided by Lucas Local and Loree's Fine Food. Samantha Miller of S.S. Sweets out of Providence R.I. provided an assortment of French delicacies and cream puffs infused with Litchfield Distillery Maple Bourbon.

Continuous Cajan music by emcee John Voket of 99Dollar DJ & Entertainment had some guests enjoying the dance floor.

Mardi Gras is nothing without great drinks which were provided by Woodbury Brewery, Nick's chilled & distilled in Sandy Hook, and Litchfield Distillery.

The beautiful masks in the glass table seen photo 3 were donated to the Chamber by Eric Chanko a previous New Orleans resident, but who now calls Newtown his home.
