"Historic Stone Walls for Wildlife"
It was cold temperatures and beautiful blue skies for this Sunday at the Sanctuary held at Fraser Woods Montessori School in Newtown, CT.
Author of "Stone Wall Secrets", Dr Robert Thoron, a UCONN University professor, author, and founder of The Stone Wall Initiative spoke about the historic story of stone walls and the life within.
Becky Newman, Education Director of Earth Place in Westport discussed some of the creatures such as turtles and amphibians who make a stone wall their home.
Master Stone Mason, Andres Pighills did a hands on example of how to build a stone wall using large rocks. Meanwhile kids had fun building miniature stone walls with little rocks.
There was a bouquet of cherry blossoms and one of pussy willows with forsythia buds showing what is starting to bloom now.
