The 7th Newtown Arts Festival was another outstanding event presented by The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission.
The festivities began Friday night September 14th featuring:
Dylan Rhodes Cortese a Newtown musician was the opening act, and winner of the 2017 Newtown Cultural Arts Commission Scholarship
The Lords of 52nd St, Legends of the Billy Joel Band including original Billy Joel Band musicians Liberty Devitto on drums, Richie Cannata sax, and Russell Javors guitar. Other musicians in the band were Malcolm Gold playing bass guitar, Dennis DelGaudio guitar, Doug Kistner keyboard, and David Clark piano.
Saturday and Sunday
The weather for the festival was hot and sunny a lucky break from the rain and humidity prior to, and after it ended. Ferris Farm Creamery had a steady stream of happy customers for their ice cream. Under the big tent in the shade attendees enjoyed dining on a wide selection of delicious snacks and meals offered by several food trucks. For those who liked to shop there 50+ vendors selling everything from handmade drums to leather hats and between.
